Dear Rotarians of District 5130,
Each year, we are introduced to the leaders in our District who have stepped up to serve as District Governor. Each of the past governors has shared how the role has helped change their lives and those of others for the better. This year could be your opportunity to join those who have led in the past as District Governor.
There are nearly 2,000 Rotarians in our District, and as District Governor, you would have the opportunity to meet with each of them. Together, you will provide the communities of our District and the world with amazing opportunities to make a lasting impact for generations to come. Should you become the DG, you will have the opportunity to meet with every District Governor in the world and build friendships and alliances that connect our district members with other Rotarians and citizens worldwide. But most important is the ability to meet and work with the nearly two thousand Rotarians of District 5130.
Take the time to read what past District Governors have shared about their experience. What it meant to be District Governor
If you're interested in applying for this coveted opportunity to lead or perhaps nominate a fellow club member, this is the opportunity; there is someone in your club that you would like to nominate. Submit materials to PDG Tom Boylan at rotary@boylanpoint.com
Step 1: Take a look at the 'District 5130 Governor Roles and Responsibilities'. You can also learn a bit more about the role on the RI Website by clicking on this link here
Step 2: Complete the 'Governor Nomination Form'. This must be signed by both you and your Club Secretary. (I will take care of the DG signature section)
Step 3: Complete the attached 'Rotary Resume'. I've included it in a Microsoft Word format for you to type into, or you can send me a separate resume document as long as it covers the same information.
Step 4: The signed Governor Nomination Form and the Rotary Resume document must be returned to me by NO LATER than 5 PM December 4th. Interviews will take place the following week at a date and time TBD.
I can assure you it's an experience that will impact your life in ways you can't even begin to know. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help. I look forward to hearing from you!
