North American-Rotary Emergency Disaster Initiative - "REDI"

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina the three directors of the paired zones along the gulf coast—Don Mebus, Barry Rassin and Bob Stuart convened the North American-Rotary Emergency Disaster Initiative “REDI” to discuss what had been learned and help the zones be prepared for any future disaster. In 2007, the first REDI conference was held in New Orleans, followed by the second in Nashville, Tennessee and the third in Nassau, Bahamas. The fourth annual REDI conference, hosted by Rotary District 5890, will be held in Houston, Texas on 5-6 February 2010.

As disaster recovery falls within the World Community Service program, I am sending you the attached flyer on the 2010 REDI conference. I encourage you to share it with the clubs in your district to invite them to attend.
