District 2620 Introduction
District 2620 is located in the center of the main
island of Japan (Honshu) and consists of two prefectures,
namely Shizuoka Prefecture and Yamanshi Prefecture and they
share Mt. Fuji.
The two Prefectures are located 200km to the west of
Tokyo and Shizuoka Prefecture faces the Pacific
Ocean.
The mild climate of Shzuoka Prefecture
produces rice, green tea, Mandarin orange as agricultural products, and
automobiles, motorcycles, machine tools and paper as industrial
products.
Fishery is also one of the important industries of the
Prefecture.
The population is 3.8 million.
Yamanashi Prefecture
is surrounded by mountains and produces grapes,
peaches, wine as agricultural products and jewelry, electronics
and business machines as industrial products.
It is well known that in the area there are a number of
hot springs where farmers refresh themselves after the autumn harvest.
The population is 900,000. The standard of living
in both areas is similiar to all of Japan and the people are
relatively open-minded. The educational standard is high in comparison with
other prefectures of this country.
The number of Rotary Clubs
and Rotarians in the district are 84 and 3700, respectively.
The location of the two prefectures are shown in the maps below.
