Hello,
It is my sad duty to let all of you know that PDG Bob Barwick passed away yesterday. I just talked to Jill Barwick and she asked me to notify you that the services will be held on Wednesday, December 30th, 1:00 p.m. at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main Street, Napa. She said Bob had been re-diagnosed with prostrate cancer in November, after being free of the disease for ten years.
Bob served as District Governor of our original District 513 in 1968-69 being the first ever DG from the 127 member Napa Club. Bob has lived in Napa since 1936 and he and his wife Florence have three children. Bob has been active in various philanthropic fund drives, served as Grand Jury secretary and Chamber of Commerce Director. His accomplishments are too numerous to list. The Interact Conference during his term as DG was held in Fortuna with 300 students in attendance. The District Conference was held in Napa with all of the 62 Clubs in the Distract attending. The Southwest Eureka Club and Almaden Valley Club were chartered during his year as well. Another great achievement for PDG Bob was that during his term all clubs in the District were 100% Rotary Foundation contributors.
Bob will be missed.
